I'm Jessica French, a strategic advisor and specialist based in Chicago. I have 20+ years of experience in business improvement and organizational leadership across multiple industries, and since 2015 have been actively involved in the digital transformation and product development space. I've worked with with a range of clients; from the gritty, feisty startup headspace, to mature organizations looking to redesign their systems and their operations from the ground up.
The disciplines vary by engagement. The goal is the same: the right things built, by the right people, in the right sequence. The clients I work best with are genuinely about the work. They want the truth more than they want a comfortable status update. They can give and take real pushback without making it personal. And they think there's something satisfying, even fun, about a hard problem cracked open the right way.
Serious work shouldn't be joyless. I'm a thought partner who actually looks forward to the hard sessions. If you enjoy a sharp wit and even sharper analysis, we'll probably get along. If you're lucky.
When potential clients ask what I do, my response is typically "That depends, what do you think you need?" What I do varies in practice, depending on where an organization is:
Defining direction — Product vision and roadmap, business requirements, translating organizational goals into something executable. Figuring out what needs to be true before the build can begin.
Running complex programs — Leading multi-workstream initiatives across internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders. Establishing governance, managing dependencies, and keeping the strategic intent intact as the work moves through execution.
Fixing what isn't working — Assessing how an organization operates, identifying the processes and decision structures slowing it down, and designing improvements that people can actually adopt, own, and sustain.
